Best Father’s Day Gift Picks, by Dad himself.

After stewing over this much-needed-to-be-written post on Father’s Day picks for nearly a week now, I finally handed the assignment to my hubby, the ultimate gift-chooser for choosing gifts for himself. Glad I did, as my picks all got a thumbs down in his scorebook, and I have to say, he did a great job coming up with some really cool choices.

1. BookBook for iPhone $59.99

He has secretly been coveting (as have I) the BookBook for his iPhone. It turns your iPhone into what looks like a vintage leather pocket-sized book which doubles as a wallet so there’s one less thing to carry. I would order this for him for sure if he didn’t already have a Mophie battery-charging case on his phone, another good idea for Father’s Day gifts in my book, but not his. So, as Dad has it, the BookBook – and, as long as he remembers his phone, he’ll never forget his wallet again. P.S. It’s also available as an iPad case.

2. Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 Digital Camera $248

Wow! If it’s time to upgrade the camera and better immortalize those childhood moments, check out the specs on the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150: 18.2 Megapixels (we’ve come along way baby!) With 25-275mm lens, 10x optical zoom, and video all for $248. This is a hot little camera, and from our experience with earlier Cyber-shot models, this is surefire way to get outstanding photos in a fun, and user-friendly point & shoot. I picked red. Hubby picked black or blue. It’s for Father’s Day. He wins.

3. ONA Camera Bag $429

I can see why hubby picked this beautiful leather camera backpack. It’s perfect for his SLR with lens attached, along with 7 other lenses and a 17” laptop, among other things… like a BookBook….The interior dividers can be removed or shifted around to accommodate your gear. Good thing he already has a camera case, that was much less than $429.

4. Cote & Ciel Coated Techno Canvas Flat Backpack $235

No one can ever say my honey doesn’t have exquisite taste. Another backpack pick is the smart design of the Cote & Ciel Coated Techno Canvas Flat Backpack. Sporting a zippered, fold-open build with a padded laptop compartment and multiple pockets, it also has leather and steel trim, and a water-repellent waxed and coated “techno canvas” exterior. Nice one, hon. But you’re not getting one.

5. The Corkcicle $22.95

I noticed the prices of my hubby’s picks were skyrocketing to more than I had intended on spending. So I directed him to one of my favorite go-to sites for gift-giving, Uncommon Goods. I thought he might like the unique Sea Salt collection. Or perhaps some custom cufflinks. Again, my picks were way off. He picked the Corkcicle, an innovative way of chilling white wine on a balmy day. Just freeze this rather odd looking icicle and insert it into your bottle after one glass has been poured. This looks like a great idea. Hope you REALLY like it honey, because guess what…….
