“Can I have one for Mother’s Day?”

Mother’s Day is right around the corner. And while many moms are happy with the traditional bouquet of flowers, favorite fragrance or proverbial box of chocolates, here are a few suggestions that step it up for the mom on top of tech.

Dolphin Submarine

Why should the boys have all the fun? If your hubby hints at a new iPad or flatscreen TV for birthdays or Father’s Day, why not leave your computer open to this link for a subtle Mother’s Day hint. I mean really, is your life complete without a motorized dolphin submarine? Mine neither. Unfortunately, the dolphin is not yet for sale to the general public. But you can pick up a custom Seabreacher X for an unknown amount of moolah.  Just some of its high tech features include a snorkel mounted video camera that transmits live video to LCD screens for the pilot and passenger during dives, GPS navigation, and on board stereo system with iPod docking. Suhweet!!!!

Sofa Bunk Beds

If the dolphin submarine is a bit too pricey, the next idea could be a bit out of range too, not to mention, out of the country. But how wonderful would it be to solve those guest space issues with a sofa that converts into bunk beds? This Sofa Bunk-bed by Bonbon is quite ingenious, comes in my favorite color orange but I’m just not sure they deliver to the U.S. More wishful thinking.

Lekue Steamer

This may not be the most romantic Mother’s Day gift, but it’s one of my favorite healthy inventions that makes cooking vegetables a snap in 2-5 minutes. The Lekue silicone Steam Case “steams” food in the microwave or the conventional oven keeping its nutrients in tact for healthier eating. It also cooks meat, potatoes and full-on recipes. My next door neighbor was in a panic for a side dish one night. We prepared brussel sprouts in 4 minutes. Done, and done. Get one. You can order one right here through Amazon in the U.S.

Happy Mother’s Day!
